Rap musician opens his own way
The interview lasted a few minutes and talked like he was rapping one of his songs.
Secure of himself, affable and even impressed by the good news, said: “I presented the CD Kminos in CubaDemo event ” project promoted by the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) and its subsidiary in Havana, which call every young artist under 35 years, who has recorded a CD with its own resources to compete in the categories of design, fusion music, live electronics, rock and rap.
“I was nominated in three categories, design, hip hop and best disk in CubaDemo and I won the prize in hip hop category,” he said moving his long arms like he was on stage.
Undoubtedly I was talking with Vladimir Gonzalez Cobas, best known as El continuo, who expressed: “To be persistent allowed me to win this event.”
Immediately he continued: “Professionally this is the second award I receive after the Cubadisco music event in June. I think it’s important because I feel that my songs are recognized and people enjoy of them. I’m satisfied because it is a new album”.
“I want to produce a more professional CD and work on it hard. Now I can be listened to in the theater Bertolt Brecht and in La Madriguera in Havana.”
And in the Isle?
“Well I offered a concert last Saturday in La Mecanica square and I sang songs of the album Kminos and others with the project Kausa Justa, but now I´m working in Havana.
“I feel happy every time I return to the island. I represent this people still having commitments” he expressed proudly of having grown in this land.
