Positive evaluation of collaborative project

The delegation, on behalf of the government of that country, visited the territory in order to evaluate the development of these instruments of cooperation between the two nations.

The Japanese delegation is satisfied with the development of the Project improvements in water supply systems and sanitation in the Isle of Youth. The delegation, on behalf of the government of that country, visited the territory in order to evaluate the development of these instruments of cooperation between the two nations.
Yasunaga Takachiho, leader of the team and professor of Tamagawa University, on behalf of the group expressed his agreement with the main impacts and benefits achieved in this first year of the project.

In this regard he stated: “I have the impression that the project will help to improve the water supply in the island and through the efforts of the functionaries and staff involved, people living in remote areas receive the gratitude.

” Resources have been acquired and they have achieved to make them work efficiently with creativity and ingenuity, demonstrating the discipline and demands from the officials of MINSEX to the operators, in order to cover each of the needs and get efficient results.
” Through this visit we have seen that people here work with love to their profession. What it was reached today is for the good of both peoples. Our interest is not only donate equipment, but also to help ensure sustainability and to benefit to the last consumer.” he said.

Jesús María Rivera Pérez, technical director of the Water Resources Company, emphasized that among th objectves of this project stand to raise the quality of life of local people from the improvement of the operation of supply and sanitation of drinking water and intensify supply in four remote communities, as well as control of operating parameters and efficiency in all supply systems, and the quality of wastewater.

In this sense the realization of this cooperation instrument has yielded four submersible pumps for drinking water with their boards, cables, and other spare parts components installed a year ago in rural communities of Cuatro Caminos, Briones Montoto, El Tronco and La Isabel, benefiting more than 900 residents living in these communities, who have received an average of 512.6 liters of drinking water per person daily.
Another acquisitions with a great impact was the disobstructor equipment of high pressure, also with sopare parts to resolve obstructions in sewer systems in both urban and rural areas; until October of this year 1145 disobstructions had been already  made.

Similarly it was possible to get four diesel pumps that have enabled ensure supply of liquid in water pipes, a digital ultrasonic flowmeter, a bathymeter samplers and other equipments with useful accessories for measurement and control of water.
