Today September 15, a great part of the inhabitants of the Isle of Youth will be participating in the 2012 Population and Housing Census, the most complex social research that our country carries out every 10 years.

An army of young people wearing white and red pullovers, caps and credentials will stat to walk the streets of our neighbors, cities and communities, asking to each adult a series of data, which allow us to know how we live, how many people we are, the age and what we do, as well as the quality of our houses, basic data that will allow to implement necessary economic programs, in a long term, and design a better future for all.

Specialists in the matter have already began a part of the process with the preparation of ten areas, 113 districts and seminars to the people that will partcipate directly.

During ten days population will be also a collaborator because they will offer the data as truthfully as possible. It´s important to know that Census no give rights, it´s only an important statistical study that will allow, with its outcome, to create a more equitable-development nation.

This is the fourth census undertaken since the triumph of the Revolution and the 18th undertaken in Cuba since 1774, which was the first, showing its importance for the country at any time and economic system.

The experience, capacity, quality of human resources envolved in the process, tradition and previous organizational work, will enable us to predict the success of the task.
