Local professionals in Iberoamerican event

generoycomunicacionClara Moya, Dr in Pedagogical Science and Gloria Morales Campanioni, journalist of Victoria Weekly represent the Isle of Youth in the X Iberoamerican Event of Gender and Communication, scheduled for May 23-25 in Havana.

Their papers Tina Modotti: vida, obra y construcción de género and Mi ciudad se desnuda, respectively were selected in the Regional Event of Gender and Communication held last April 5 in the national headquarter of the Cuban Journalists Union (UPEC).

In this opportunity, the main issue of the event will be Media agenda and gender: paradoxes of hegemony, where professors, journalists and investigators will analyze the advances and backwards in the construction of the agenda of the media for the gender point of view.

Masculinity studies, alternative media, publicity and public good messages, gender violence, sexuality, women’s human rights  will be also discussed in panels, lectures and papers.

The event, celebrated every two years, was created two decades ago and is sponsored by the Cuban Journalists Union (UPEC), the Cuban Women Federation (FMC) and the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS).
