“We go to our beautiful Cuba to help our Cuban brothers after the passing of the hurricane Sandy” expressed Yordanis Rodríguez Benítez and Marcos Borroto Santiesteban, two workers of the Electric Company of the Isle of Youth that fulfil internationalist mission in Venezuela, in a written form on the wall of Facebook.
Part of the members of the brigade of this Municipality that work some months ago in Venezuela, now are working in the re-establishment of the energy service in the eastern provinces of the country, which were affected during the passing of Sandy.
This territory is added to the solidarity that works in the recovery of the damaged areas, occasioning the lamentable death of persons and strong damages in the national economy.
In these localities not only the electricity and telephone services have been activated little by little, but also the health institutions and the educational centers in order to offer medical assistance to any people that need it and continue the school year.
Brigades of workers from the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Havana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Ciego de Avila, Las Tunas and Granma are currently cooperating in the recovery due to the damages caused by Sandy, that hurricane that left hopes and solidarity.
